Bromyard has a large variety of businesses considering its rural nature and small size.

There are a number of manufacturing companies on the town’s industrial estate involved mainly in high technology activities. Polytec Holden, the town’s largest employer, produce advanced plastic components for the automotive industry, whilst Hydrologic are specialists in water management and flood prevention. Other fine companies cover a range of products and services with one speciality being sales and service of wood-burning stoves, Rayburns and Agas.

The majority of the town’s retail businesses are centred on the two main streets of Broad Street and High Street which is still reminiscent of how things were in most places in the 50′s and 60′s. As Bromyard has no superstores, no hypermarkets, no out of town developments we have retained what has mostly been lost elsewhere. Our independent retailers cover the whole spectrum of shopping including food, beverage, clothing, shoes, gifts, flowers, hardware … indeed everything a “proper” High Street should have. A full list of the High Street stores can be viewed on website.

In addition there are many small craft businesses both in the town and in the surrounding villages and countryside. Woodworking, blacksmithing, ceramics and fine art are among the skills on offer and provide interesting days out as well as an opportunity to acquire high quality unique items at affordable prices.
